William George Rudy

William George Rudy died peaceably on Sunday, Sept. 21, at the Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater, NJ.
Born in February, 1925, in the Heights section of Wilkes Barre, Pa, to Caroline (Shaffer) and George Emmanuel Rudy, he attended local schools and the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. Bill enlisted in the USAF in WWII and served in North Africa, China, India, Rome and Arno in the CBI Companies. Stateside, he married the love of his life, Martha (Pat) (Mihalick) in 1947. She predeceased him in 2012 after 65 years together.

Bill worked for American Cyanamid Corp. for 39 years before an active retirement with Pat. Together, they visited most of the continental US and Alaska, while residing in Manville, NJ.

Bill Rudy was a dedicated hunter, an avid fisherman, who, in his later years pursued and caught
many muskellunge, some trophy size. Bill was also a lifelong master gardener and a student of every living thing.

Bill was preceded in death by his only brother, Carl J.. Surviving are his son, Philip, and his lifemate, Deborah Owens, Mountaintop, PA. and his daughter, Carolyn Rogus and her husband, Thomas, Manville, NJ, three grandchildren Eric, Jeanette and Christine as well as five beloved great grandchildren, William, Sydney, Jillian, Riley and Reagan.

A private ceremony will be observed by the family. His request for cremation will be honored.
