William Charles Hoesly, 77, died on October 31, 2023.
Born in Orange, NJ to the late Albert and Lynda Hoesly (nee Cooper), he was raised on Division Avenue in Summit and was a graduate of Summit High School. Mr. Hoesly proudly served his country in the United States Air Force where he was honorably discharged in 1970 as a Sergeant. He went on to attend Montclair State University where he graduated with his bachelor’s degree in psychology. While at Montclair State he met the love of his life, Eugenia McArdle, the two were married and settled to Bridgewater in the 1990’s where they raised their family.
Mr. Hoesly worked as a Production Supervisor at Schering Plough in Kenilworth. He then worked at Mavis Tire/STS as a driver and also drove for Greys Florist. In his retirement, he spent time working at Parks and Recreation Headquarters for Somerset County.
He was a devout Catholic man of God and a lifelong conservative. William enjoyed watching Fox News and was a proud American. He loved books, documentaries, and shows about aliens, UFO’s, big foot, and historical events. William was a past yoga instructor and in high school was in the Junior Police.
He was known for his incredible sense of humor and an ability to make anyone laugh. Mr. Hoesly was a hard worker who found it hard to retire and sit still. He looked forward to taking his family on vacation every year and adored spending time together. His selflessness was seen in his charitable contributions to Tunnels to Towers, Shriners Children Hospital, Wounded Warriors, and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Lynda Hoesly, oldest brother Albert George Hoesly, Jr. and wife Sally Hoesly, second oldest brother George Hoesly, and sister Diane Janssen-Hienl.
Surviving are his beloved wife Eugenia Marie Hoesly, his loving children, Kristin Hoesly-DiLonardo and husband Harry DiLonardo, Scott Hoesly and wife Kirsten Hoesly, unofficial son Andrew Nosca and wife Khrystine Nosca, his adored grandchildren Colette, Winter, and unofficial grandson Reid, siblings Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hoesly, Sr., Robert “Hobie” and Margaret “Peggy” Hoesly, and Cindy Luciano Hoesly, as well as his extended family and community friends.
