William H. Haney passed away at Morristown Memorial Hospital on October 5, 2021. He was born in Elizabeth, NJ, on May 31, 1950, to William and Marie Haney.
Bill studied Fine Arts at the University of Tampa, followed by earning an MFA at the University of Georgia.
After grad school, Bill taught Fine Arts at Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, for over 10 years. After a move back to New Jersey, he spent many years as a medical artist, creating advertisements and technical papers for such products as Zocor®, Port-a-Cath®, Alloderm®, and AirCast®.
Bill returned to teaching at such universities as the University of Pennsylvania and The College of New Jersey before finding his home at Seton Hall University, where he taught for the past 20 years. He enjoyed his family, his teaching career, creating his art, and watching football. Go Dawgs!
Bill is survived by his wife, Karen, and their four children, Patrick, Michael, Tim, and Andrew, his daughter-in-law Erica, and his grandson Greyson. Also surviving are his sister, Jeanne Shelhimer, and brothers Mark Haney and Paul Haney.
Visiting hours from 5pm-8pm on Thursday, October 14, at the Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Ave., Somerville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Friday, October 15, at Mary, Mother of God Church, 157 South Triangle Road, Hillsborough. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, 1100 East Broad Street, Westfield.
