William "Bill" S. Demko Sr. died August 11 at his home in Flagtown. Bill was born in Somerville, raised in Raritan, and has lived here for 52 years. His wife of 50 years, Betty, and daughter Linda predeceased him.

A graduate of Somerville High School, Mr. Demko began his truck driving career with Lusardi's Distributors/Schaefer Brewing Company and then retired from Jaeger Lumber, Neshanic. He enjoyed travelling, RV camping, country music and motorcycle and car racing.

Surviving are his children William Jr. and his companion Lisa Marrazza, Deborah Brown and her husband Russ, Karen Hepburn and her husband Donald, Stephen IV and his wife Karen and Adam and his wife Catherine,a brother Stephen (Smokey) Demko III and his wife Marcia, his aunt Evelyn Schweitzer, his ex-daughter-in-law Margaret Demko and loving companion Anna Flora and his caregiver Elizabeth Ivan, along with his 15 grandchidren and 13 great grandchildren.
