William James Arthur Burke

William James Arthur Burke, son of the late William J. and Amelia Burke, died on July 20 at Green Knoll CareCenter. He was born in Jersey City and resided there before moving to Somerville in 2004.

A graduate of Georgetown University, Mr. Burke was employed as a Guidance Counsellor at Lincoln High School, Jersey City and later as a Chemical Lab Instructor at Jersey City Junior College where he also coached baseball and swimming. He served honorably as a Sergeant in the Army Air Corps, 1st Air Force Headquarters of the Adjutant General's Classified Department (OSS) during WW II. He is survived by family and friends of North Carolina.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am on Thursday, July25, at the Immaculate Conception Curch, Somerville. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation will begin 10am on Thursday
morning before Mass at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville.
