Wayne Thomas Mella died peacefully on June 16 from a long illness. He was born in New Brunswick, raised in Bridgewater and resided in Flagtown (Hillsborough Township) for 30 years.
Surviving are his wife of 36 years Karen (Boast) Mella, his son Dan and his daughter Kathryn and his 2 sisters Kathy Winchock and Lynn Vanderbeek. Wayne was predeceased by his parents Anthony and Helen Mella.
Wayne most recently was employed for 5 years at Barry's Appliance in Bridgewater. Prior to his employment there, he worked in sales for many years for various vinyl plastic companies throughout the East Coast. Wayne's greatest joys were his family and wonderful friends and attending NASCAR Racing with his son Dan as well as reading, home improvement, woodworking and watching football especially Rutgers Football.
A 1973 graduate of Bridgewater H.S. West and a 1981 graduate of Rutgers University with a BS degree in Business Administration, Wayne will be sorely missed by all those who knew him.
Visiting hours from 6pm-9pm on Wednesday, June 20, at the Cusick Funeral Home in Somerville. Cremation will be private.
