Virginia Maggio, 84, died peacefully in Lafayette, Colorado, on June 24, 2022. Born in Maspeth, Queens, NY to the late James and Rose Caravella, she was a graduate of the Mary Louis Academy, and went on to join the Sisters of St. Joseph in Brentwood, NY, before returning to lay life and working for Western Electric in lower Manhattan. It was there through family connections that she met the love of her life, John Maggio. The two were married in 1965 and settled in Hillsborough, New Jersey where they raised their family. Virginia was a professional wife and mother, who devoted herself to raising her children. She then got promoted to grandmother and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. Mrs. Maggio was a communicant of Mary Mother of God Church in Hillsborough. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, baking, and spending quality time with her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband John Maggio in 2004, and her dear brother Jim Caravella. Surviving are her loving sons, Bill and wife Tricia, Tom and wife Karen, Bob and wife Chris, and Dave and wife Trish, her nine cherished grandchildren, Nicole, Megan, Jenn, Sara, Jack, Elle, Lauren, D.J. and Sofie. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 7th from 4:00 to 8:00PM, at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville. Family and friends are welcome to gather beginning at 9:00AM on Friday July 8th, 2022, at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville for a 10:00AM prayer service at the funeral home.
