Vincent James Giardina, Jr.

April 13, 1961 — January 27, 2023

Vincent James Giardina, Jr., 61, died peacefully in his sleep on Friday, January 27, 2023.

Born in Philadelphia to the late Vincent Sr. and Angela Giardina (nee Turchi), he was raised in Somerville and a former resident of Bridgewater.

Vincent, known best as Vinny, was a self-taught information technology professional. His true passion in life was the time he dedicated to the Beez Foundation, a charity started by his family after the passing of his cherished niece Jennifer. He spent his time as an M.C. for events held by the foundation and acted as their creative director.

Vinny was always happiest behind a camera at the Delaware Water Gap, photographing nature and the world. He would often take his nieces and nephews there for day trips and "adventures" to explore the area nearby. He loved just picking a direction down a road and driving down it, just to see what interesting hideaways and nooks he could find while exploring with his friends.

He would be described by anyone who knew him as one of the kindest and most thoughtful human beings you could ever meet. He had an unmatched love of new jokes and esoteric music and was always quick with a funny story or an amusing article he had happened across. He was selfless and was willing to offer help whenever it was needed. There wasn't a room he could walk into where he wasn't the funniest man; except of course if that room contained his comedic hero, Gilbert Gottfried.

Vinny was called The Fount of all Knowledge, thanks to his prodigious memory and knowledge of history, music, film and just about any subject you could imagine a question could be asked about. A beloved, and truly brilliant man; the world is a sadder, and darker, place for his passing. He will be missed deeply by his friends and family.

Welcoming him on the other side, are his beloved parents, his dear brother Charles, and his cherished niece Jennifer.

Surviving are his loving siblings, Regina Giardina and partner Brian,  Joseph Giardina and wife Susan, Thea Giardina, John Giardina and wife Katherine, and Annette Giardina, his adored nieces and nephews, Rob (Katya), Jennifer (Craig), Nick (Kelly) Tess(Rob), Alex, and Michael (Melissa), his grand nieces and nephews, as well as his extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023, from 4:00 to 8:00PM at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville. Family and friends will begin reflections at 7:15PM at the funeral home and via zoom.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 10:00 to 11:00AM at the funeral home, followed by family and friends gathering to continue to celebrate Vinny's life at a repast location to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make donations in his memory to the Beez Foundation Donate Online or any cancer charity dear to you, in his honor.
