Thomas J. Story, beloved husband and devoted father, passed away on December 21 in Southern Ocean Medical Center (SOCH). He is survived by his wife, Dorothy E. Story, a retired business teacher/supervisor from Manville High School, Manville, NJ. His children are Kimberly Ann of Somerville and James Robert of Manahawkin. His one grandson, Jacob L. MacLean resides with his mother in Long Island. He is also survived by his loving sister, Ann Abbruzzese and her husband Julio of Mohawk, NY as well as several nephews and some very dear and loving friends. Thomas graduated from St. Peter's High School, New Brunswick and Mount St. Mary's College, Emmitsburg, MD. He was a long time employee in the New Jersey Department of Labor and Industry, having retired as the office manager. He then worked a few years as the correspondence coordinator for the New Jersey Interscholastic Athletic Association in Robbinsville, NJ. Born in Plainfield, Thomas and his wife lived in Hillsborough, NJ for 23 years. While there, they were communicants of St. Joseph's Church. They moved to Manahawkin in 2002 so he could spend his retirement pursing his love of fishing. As a resident of Manahawkin, he was a communicant of St. Mary's Parish in Barnegat, a member of St. Mary's Adult Group, the AARP Chapter 3995 and the Village Harbor Fishing Club. A Funeral Service will be held 10am on Monday, December 27 at the Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Ave., Somerville. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Manville. Visiting hours from 2pm to 5pm on Sunday, December 26 at the funeral home. A special Memorial Service for Tom will also be held 11am on Wednesday, December 29 at St. Mary's of the Pines, Bishop Lane in Manahawkin. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Vincent dePaul Food Pantry, St. Mary's Parish, 747 West Bay Avenue, Barnegat, NJ 08005.
