Thomas John Phillips (Bridgewater and Long Beach Township, NJ) passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Thursday February 12, 2015.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on June 18, 1936 Tom became a standout football player for Hanover Township High School. He served his country in the US Army and then went on to graduate from Temple University with a degree in Business Administration. Upon graduation he was employed by Ethicon Inc. Tom served as Director of Sales for the mechanical wound closure division. He spent his golden years splitting time between his home in Bridgewater and his second home in Barnegat Light where he loved to spend time on the water and with a cocktail watching the sunset on his deck.
Tom is survived by, Janice, his wife of 56 years – daughter Holly (Meriden, CT) and her husband Keith – son Douglas (Howell, NJ) and his wife Debra – granddaughter Teagan – and sister Lillian (Hope, NJ) and her husband Stanley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30am on Friday, February 20, at the Immaculate Conception Church, 35 Mountain Ave., Somerville.
