Susan Jane (Messinger) Monahan passed away peacefully at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick on March 2, 2016, after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer.

As a graduate of Glassboro State College (now Rowan University), Susan was an exceptionally talented and creative art teacher for several years before retiring from that profession to be a full time stay at home mom to her two beloved children. She was an outstanding sales representative for Longaberger Baskets for about 30 years, which enabled her to work out of the home and be there for her family.

Susan was predeceased by her beloved parents, Margaret Perdue Messinger and Martin Messinger. Susan is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Joseph Monahan, her two children Courtney and Jeffrey Monahan and her son-in-law Robert Rose. She is also survived by her two sisters, Lorraine Connolly and Grace Klein, as well as many other cherished family and friends.

Visitation will be at the Cusick Funeral Home in Somerville on Tuesday, March 8th from 6-9 pm. Susan was a devoted Catholic, and her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Mary, Mother of God Church in Hillsborough at 10:30 am on Wednesday, March 9th.
