Steven Anthony Werts

Stevie Werts, 59, of Somerville, NJ passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the Somerset Medical Center.

He was born September 30, 1951 in Somerville and attended school there graduating from high school in 1970. He joined the Army and was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he was employed by United Cyanamid in Bound Brook and went on to work and retire from Johnson and Johnson Consumer Products in Skillman, NJ.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mavis and George L. Werts as well as his brother and sister, David F. Werts and Jacqueline A. Werts.

He was married and divorced from Cathy Dorsey of Somerville and, at one time, maintained a long relationship with Billie Braxton of Somerville.

At the time of his death, he was survived by his son and two daughters, Steven L Werts and Whitney and McKenzie Braxton-Werts of Somerville, one granddaughter, Amber Rose Figueroa of Somerville; two nieces, Jennifer and Tracey Werts of California and his companion Kathy Anderson of Somerville.

Reminiscing will commence at 10:00 am and be followed by a memorial service at 11:00 on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at the Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville, NJ.
