Steven
Ostaszewski
Feb 10, 1965 — Jun 20, 2026
Bridgewater
Steven Ostaszewski, 61, died peacefully at home on June 20, 2026.
Born in Trenton to the late Walter Frank and Helen Casimira Ostaszewski, he was raised in Ewing where he attended St. Hedwig Grammer School. Steven went on to graduate from Notre Dame High School and attended Smith and Solomon Transportation Institute where he obtained his Commercial Drivers License.
Steven worked in transportation for years before devoting himself to being his parents’ caregivers. He remained living at his childhood home in Ewing and dedicated his life to maintaining the home, assuring his parents were well taken care of, and providing comfort and the joy of keeping them in their own home.
In 2011 Steven moved out of his childhood home and resided in Bridgewater with his brother. He worked for First Transit as a Rutgers UniversityCampus Bus Driver and maintained the property in Bridgewater. Steven and his brother had a great balance of abilities around the house and made a house a home together. Steven enjoyed working around the yard and spending time on his cars. Steven was very mechanically inclined, which he inherited from his father, who worked as a factory machinery mechanic.
When Steven was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, he did his best to maintain his dignity and role at home, even cutting the grass up until a few weeksbefore passing. He was blessed to have his older brother at home with him, providing the same care Steven gave to their parents years ago, and giving him the comfort of being at home in his final days.
Surviving is his cherished brother.
