Shirley M. Knoble (nee Pfeiffer), 84, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2014. Beloved wife to her husband of more than 62 years, John (“Jack”) Knoble, she was a strong and loving mother to their four children, Gail (Strelko), Lynn (deceased), John (“Larry”), and Janet (Hutton). Her family, including sons and daughters in law, six grandchildren and great grandson will all deeply miss our warm and fun-loving “Nana”.
A resident of Bridgewater for 47 years, Shirley previously resided with Jack in Plainfield and Scotch Plains, NJ. She spent her earlier years primarily in Alpha and Philipsburg, NJ.

Through the years, Shirley participated in various women’s clubs and fundraisers, enjoyed playing bridge and tennis with her friends, and was an avid reader. She filled her home with warmth and music and sang solos in church choirs. Her zest for life and welcoming disposition not only made an unforgettable impression on friends and family, but invited strangers to approach her and share their life stories. Shirley went out of her way to care for others. She enjoyed life and enriched the lives of those she touched. She will be dearly missed.

Visiting hours will be from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm on Friday, January 2nd, 2015 at Cusick Funeral Home in Somerville, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Saturday, January 3rd, at St. Philip & St. James Church in Phillipsburg, NJ. Interment to follow at church cemetery in Phillipsburg.
