Sarah S. Bendetti, wife of the late Anthony (Bucky) Bendetti Sr., died April 14 in Florida where she has resided since 2000. Mrs Bendetti, a loving and caring woman, was born in Bayonne, NJ in 1914 and had lived in Bridgewater for over 50 years before moving to West End, NJ in 1972 after her husband's passing. Her parents, Michael and Anna (Delasandro) Latorra opened a trolley stop/ice cream store at the corner of East Main St. and Finderne Ave., Bridgewater in 1927. This establishment, well known to many a thirsty and hungry traveller, would eventually become Bucky's Restaurant where Sarah worked alongside her husband, Bucky, for 35 years. She attended Finderne School and Drake's Business School in Plainfield. Her sisters, Dorothy and Mary Latorra predeceased her. Surviving are her sons Paul (wife Patricia) and Anthony Jr. (wife Carole), four grandchildren Jack, Paul, Vanessa and Kristy and a great grandson Jake. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Thursday, April19 at the Blessed Sacrament Chruch, Washington Valley Rd., Martinsville. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Manville. Visiting hours are from 2-4 & 7-9pm on Wednesday, April 18 at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donmations may be made to the American Heart Association of American Cancer Society.
