Sandra M. Ball

April 22, 1944 — January 8, 2024

Sandra Ball passed away surrounded by her children on January 8, 2024 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She was born on April 22, 1944, in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania, to John and Dorothy Hamulla. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Jack and Sonya Hamulla.

Sandy was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School in 1962. She lived in Somerville, NJ for over 50 years, where she raised her children and grandchildren, for whom she lived. Her fondness of helping other people was seen in her many decades of work at Wiley, Inc. where she worked as a customer service agent.

Sandy loved animals deeply and could often be found snuggling them or feeding stray kittens. Sandy’s love for her family was evident in her passion for and support of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sandy’s loyalty to her friends was seen through her decades long friendships that she devotedly kept.

Sandy was strong-willed and stubborn, which undoubtedly helped her through life’s challenges. But her loyalty was also seen in her passion for rewatching Blue Bloods and Bohemian Rhapsody numerous times and in the never ending loop of Elvis playing in the background of her life.

Sandy leaves behind a legacy of love for animals and family. Sandy is survived by her children, Sandra Rayhon (Lawrence), James Ball, and John Ball (Sandra), her beloved grandchildren, Samantha Lussi (Dominic), James Ball, Ashley Ball, Dannielle Comunale (Zachary), Sarah Ball, and Lindsay Ball, and her cherished great grandchildren, including Lola Lussi.

Sandy will be remembered as a matriarch, who sacrificed greatly for her family and also for her deep love of animals. Her big heart, generosity, and passion will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her family is deeply saddened by her loss.

A private memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00PM on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville with a prayer service held at 2:30 PM.  Sandy will be put to rest with her parents in Mount Carmel.
