Robert A. Slawski, Jr.

Robert A. Slawski Jr., age 59, passed away on April 29, 2024. Born in Red Bank, New Jersey to the late Robert Sr. and Vilma Slawski, Robert grew up in the Belle Mead section of Hillsborough and graduated from Hillsborough High School. He pursued further education at a technical school, which enhanced his natural ability to fix almost any electronic or mechanical item he was presented with. Robert was very confident in all that he did, and he was not afraid to fail.

Robert's enthusiasm for automobiles was evident, especially those of his own, including a 1963 Chevy II Nova wagon, a 1974 Chevy Nova 350 and a 1966 Buick Skylark. He was a regular at Downtown Somerville Cruise Nights, showcasing his beloved blue Nova wagon and his unmistakable yellow with black stripes Nova. Robert was also an expert seller on eBay and a well known regular at the Warren Flea Market. He had many friends and was able to connect and communicate with any kind of person, including a deaf and mute mail man, who faithfully picked up the many packages going to Robert's customers across the United States and sometimes abroad.

Robert and his wife, Suzanne, met on New Year's Eve in 1989 and were married in 2001. Together, they enjoyed scouring garage and estate sales, making visits to the Jersey Shore and Florida, and tending to their cherished home in Somerville, New Jersey.

Robert leaves behind his loving wife Suzanne Slawski; his sister, Emma Griffith and her husband Allan; brother-in-law, James Malm and his wife Keli; and his dear nieces and nephews Jesse, Vilma, Lila, Emmy-Lu, Megan, Quin, Kirk, and Emma. He is also survived by nine great-nieces and nephews, as well as a wide circle of extended family and friends. Robert's legacy of passion for what he believed in, friendship, and love endures in the hearts of those who knew him.

Memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00PM on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville.

Prayer services will be held at 4:30PM.
