Robert Joseph Pietrucha entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, January 29, 2014. He was born on November 12th, 1941 in New Brunswick, NJ, a son of the late Joseph and Josephine Pietrucha.
A 1964 graduate of Rutgers University, Robert was an outstanding athlete with a profound passion for sports. He found great joy in working with and teaching children of all ages. He taught at Immaculata High School as a gym teacher and guidance counselor. He also taught at Piscataway High School where he was a gym teacher and baseball coach, and was honored as Coach of the Year in 1973. His free time included refereeing sporting events and teaching Drivers Ed students.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Ronetz Pietrucha of Hillsborough, NJ, his children; Robin Pietrucha Lehr of Red Hill, PA, Glenn Pietrucha of Frenchtown, NJ, Lisa Pietrucha Billian of South Plainfield, NJ, Robert Nolan English Pietrucha, Ronald William Pietrucha, Robert Joseph Pietrucha II and Ryne Jorge Pietrucha, and his 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are his siblings; Alex Ivan (wife Mary Ellen Ivan) of Toms River, NJ, Nancy Pietrucha Neary (husband Fred Neary) of Ringoes, NJ, Barbara Pietrucha Doyle (husband David Doyle) of Landing, NJ, Ronald James Pietrucha of Milford, NJ, Kathleen Pietrucha Paulino of Milford, NJ and Joyce Pietrucha Kohanski (husband John Kohanski) of Ringoes, NJ. Also surviving is his ex-wife and friend Susanne Pietrucha. Predeceased are his son Justin Pietrucha and daughter Cindi Leigh Pietrucha.
Visitation will begin at 2pm on Tuesday, February 4, at the Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Ave., Somerville and conclude with a Prayer Service at 6pm.
