Robert Louis Bruder, Sr.

Robert Louis Bruder, Sr., 84, died peacefully on May 9, 2024.

Born in Brooklyn, New York to the late Louis Alloyusous and Anna Bruder (nee McGlyn), he was a graduate of St. Leonard’s High School, Class of 1957. He then joined the United States Army Reserve and was called to active duty in 1961 and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, before being transferred back to the reserves for the duration of his enlistment.

Mr. Bruder spent his forty-year career on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. He met and married the love of his life, Regina Upton, and settled to Brooklyn where they began their family. They then resided in Staten Island for over thirty years where they raised their family. The Bruder’s enjoyed traveling together. Creating memories in Egypt, Russia, China, France, Italy, and Germany that last a lifetime. They enjoyed vacationing on an Alaskan Cruise and spending time in Upstate New York and Atlantic Highlands. They found their greatest joy in the quality time spent with their family, especially their grandchildren. They moved to New Jersey to be closer to them and play an active role in their lives. Mr. Bruder was an active parishioner at The Church of The Immaculate Conception in Somerville.

Surviving are his beloved wife , Regina “Jean” Bruder, his loving children Robert, Jr. and wife Peggy, Christopher and wife Kathy, William and wife Carmen, and Denise and husband Joseph, his cherished grandchildren Jennifer and husband Ryan, Nicole, Tiffany and husband Steve, Robert III and fiancé Sarah, C.J., and William, his adored great-grandchildren Brynn, Liam, and Harper, as well as his nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Monday, May 20, 2024, at The Church of The Immaculate Conception, Somerville. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home beginning at 9:00 AM.

Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery Brooklyn, 3620 Tilden Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11203.
