Rita M. Orecchio, wife of the late Carmen (Tom) Orecchio, died December 11 at home. Mrs. Orecchio was born in Skillman and was a resident of Somerville most of her life.
She retired in 1983 as Branch Manager from Princeton Savings and Loan of Somerville after 20 years. Her previous employment included the State Treasury Department, ASF Depot in Hillsborough, the First National Bank of Bound Brook and the Law Offices of Judge William G. DeMaza of Plainfield.
A 1936 graduate of Somerville High School and Drake Business College in 1937.
Mrs. Orecchio was predeceased by her parents Angelo and Marion Macchi, her siblings Louis, Albert, Henry Macchi, Anna Lombardo and Emma Macchi and her dear grandson Brian R. Birgfeld.
Surviving are her daughter Carol A. Birgfeld of Bedminster and her son William M. Orecchio and his wife JoAnn of Neshanic, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Rita was loved by her family and friends and will be sadly missed for her generous and caring heart.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30am on Saturday, December 15 at the Immaculate Conception Curch in Somerville. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. Visitation is from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Friday, December 14 at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville.
