Rita E. Cemino died February 23 at RWJ at Somerset in Somerville. She was born in Raritan, raised in Somerville where she attended Somerville High School.

As a graduate of St. Peter's School of Nursing, New Brunswick, Mrs. Cemino enlisted in the US Navy Nursing Corps and served as a Lieutenant during WW II. She furthered her career at St. Peter's General Hospital, Somerset Medical Center and worked for Dr. F. Taber in New Brunswick for many years. Her last employment in her nursing career before retiring was with Somerset Treatment Services, Somerville, for 8 years.

She was a long time member of the Immaculate Conception Church, a member of St. Luke's Rosary Society, North Plainfield, St. Peter's Alumni Association and the Women's Memorial Foundations.

Rita was predeceased by her husband Victor Cemino, her siblings Mary Geiger, Josephine Weckenman, Doris Farino, Frank Weckenman and Joseph Weckenman and also her niece Gerry Geiger and nephew Jack Weckenman. Surviving are her daughter Janis Reino of Bridgewater and her grandchildren, Victor and Val Reino along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

​A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30am on Friday, February 26, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Somerville. Visiting hours from 4pm-7pm on Thursday, February 25, at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville.
