Richard Rodger Bonoan, 48, of Piscataway, New Jersey passed away on March 10, 2021.
Rich was born in Passaic, NJ on December 5, 1972. The family moved to World’s Fair neighborhood in Somerset in 1974. He graduated from Immaculata High School in 1991 and received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from the University of Delaware in 1996. He continued on to receive his Master of Business Administration from Cardean University in 2006.
Rich was married to Czarina Bonoan (De la Cruz) for almost 16 years exploring new places and trying adventurous things. Rich was blessed with a large and loving family. He lived & showed his nieces & nephews how to enjoy life. Rich was branded the best FUNcle.
Rich initially worked as a medical technologist for 14 years at many various hospitals and
facilities. He made a bold transition out of the medical profession and transitioned to New York Life in 2010 as a financial planner.
Rich loved playing baseball, basketball, and football growing up. He was an all county
Defensive End football player (#70) in high school. He was a sports enthusiast and loved the
thrill of betting on games. One of his favorite places was the Borgata Poker room.
Rich loved a wide range of music from jazz to old school hip hop. He played the saxophone
and was learning how to play the trumpet. He was also a big karaoke fan. Rich was an
entrepreneur and had unique & outrageous ideas, including dot mobi and
ismokemarijuana.com. He had an abundance of crazy, funny stories to share.
Rich loved to travel to new places due to his adventurous spirit. Rich had so much infectious
positivity. He lived life to the fullest and knew how to have fun everywhere he went. He had so much love for his family and friends.
Rich is survived by his wife, Czarina; his father, Rogelio; sister, Jen, and her husband, Andy; his nieces & nephews (Christine, Jereene, Bea, Jacob, Janelle, Janine, Emily, Nico, AJ, Camden, Nathan, Abigail); and the rest of his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Egonia Bonoan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in his honor (giving.mskcc.org).
Visiting hours will be Sunday March, 14 from 2-5pm at Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30am Monday March 15 at Immaculate Conception Church 35 Mountain Avenue, Somerville.
