Raymond F Elson

Raymond F. Elson, 92, of Bridgewater, died peacefully surrounded by the love of his wife on October 7, 2022.

Born in the Richmond Hill section of Queens, NY to the late Raymond and Marie Elson (nee Hecker), he was a graduate of St. John’s Preparatory High School in Brooklyn. He went on to proudly serve his country in the United State Army and was stationed in Germany.

After his honorable discharge in 1950, Raymond started his career with AT&T in New York where he dedicated forty years as a manager. In his retirement, he enjoyed fishing, relaxing in his lounger with a good scotch and watching his New York Yankees baseball.

Raymond was a devout parishioner of St. Bernard of Clairvaux R.C. Church in Bridgewater, where he volunteered with the Interfaith Hospitality Network caring for the homebound.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Alvera Winters.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 68 years, Ethel Elson (nee Thompson), his loving children Steven Elson and wife Kathy, Gerard Elson and wife Anne, Martin Elson and fiancé Brooke, Carolyn Wellinsky and husband Wayne, and Peter Elson, his cherished grandchildren, Jessica, Jeremy, John, Kelly, Kimberly (Matt), Julia, Danielle, Casey, Nicole (Zac), and great-grandchildren Thomas and Emmett.

Family and friends are welcome to gather for visitation at 9:00AM on Monday, October 10, 2022, at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM on October 10, 2022, at St. Bernard of Clairvaux R.C. Church, Bridgewater.

Entombment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery Mausoleum.
