Rosemary was born on March 28,1920 with identical twin sister Rosalia. They both graduated from Somerville High School in 1939 and could fool some teachers as to their identity. She worked for more than 25 years at Johns Manville until her retirement in 1967. While at JM, she was an active bowler and winner of many awards. She also sang in the Fred Wearing Choral during the 1950's. In 1967 she married Steven Adams and five years later they moved to Littleton, CO. as part of the Johns Manville Corporate move. Steven predeceased her in 1990 and soon after Rosemary moved back to Somerville to be near her family.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Ann Torpey; nieces Dolores Petit (Edmund) and Beth Torpey, her nephews Kerry Skochin (Karen), Michael Torpey (Rachel), Kevin Torpey (Lisa) and Patrick Torpey (Nicole) her great nieces and nephews Jennifer and Ryan Skochin, Matthew Phelps, Connor, Anna, John, Killian, Liam, Michael and Lila Torpey. Along with her late husband Steven Adams, Rosemary was predeceased by her parents John and Mary Torpey; brothers Jack and Frank (Nap) Torpey; sisters Dolores and Rosalia Torpey and Mercedes Skochin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30am Wednesday, July 27 at the Immaculate Conception Church, Somerville. Interment to follow at chuch cemetery. Visiting hours will begin at 10:30am also on Wednesday morning, July 27 at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Francis E. Parker Memorial Home, 1421 River Rd., Piscataway, NJ 08854-9940
