Peter F. Diana Jr., 81, of Bridgewater, NJ, was welcomed into Heaven on August 7, 2026. He passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Pete was born in Plainfield, NJ, to Peter Sr and Angelina Diana on April 9, 1945. He grew up surrounded by siblings, cousins, and family, creating the foundation for the deep love of family that would remain at the center of his life.

After attending cosmetology school, Pete met the love of his life, Gina. Together, they began a beautiful love story, with Gina supporting Pete’s dream of owning his own barber shop. After years of hard work and dedication, Pete made that dream a reality and opened his own shop, A Cut Above the Rest, in Bound Brook, NJ.

Pete’s faith was an important part of his life. He joined Faith Fellowship, where he became an active member of the congregation and devoted his life to Jesus. When the family moved from Piscataway to Bridgewater, he continued his faith journey at Evangel Chapel.

Pete was a hardworking and devoted family man. He spent 28 years working for Branchburg Township Public Works, working tirelessly to provide for his family. But when the workday was over, Pete was always ready to come home. Everyone knew he was home when they heard him whistling and singing his way to the door.

Pete had a way of making people smile. He earned the nickname “Poppa Pete” from the neighborhood kids, always ready with a joke and always willing to be the fun dad. His warm personality and playful spirit made him someone children and adults alike loved being around.

After retiring in 2016, Pete cherished his time as a grandfather. He and Gina spent countless hours babysitting and making memories with their grandchildren, who brought him tremendous joy. He also loved vacationing with his family in Wildwood Crest, NJ, and Ocean City, MD. Those trips became treasured memories filled with laughter, family, and time together.

Pete is survived by his loving wife, Gina; his children, Angelina (and her husband, Tony), Peter (and his wife, Janel), and Daniel (and his fiancée, Jeanine); his five grandchildren, Anthony, Avery, Cora, Levi, and Declan; and his brothers, John and Doug.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Angelina and Peter; his stepmother, Margaret; his siblings, Carol, David, and Paul; and beloved son, Joey.

Pete will be deeply missed by his family, his loving caregiver, Maria, and all those whose lives he touched. His faith, his sense of humor, his love for his family, and the joy he brought to those around him will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
