In Loving Memory of Pedro Ortega

Some people leave footprints; others leave a path for those who follow.

Pedro Ortega was one of those extraordinary men whose life touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born in San Marcos, Santa Bárbara, Honduras, Pedro entered the presence of the Lord on June 28 in New Jersey, surrounded by the love of his children and grandchildren.

Pedro was the beloved husband of María Hernández and the devoted father of Roberto, Milton, Arnold, Wilmer, María Dolores, Luis, and Alejandra. He was also a cherished grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend whose love and guidance reached far beyond his immediate family.

He lived a life defined by faith, perseverance, humility, and honest work. More than anything, he loved his family and taught us that life's greatest treasures are found in love, kindness, and serving others. His joy, generosity, and unwavering optimism brought comfort and happiness to everyone around him.

Pedro enjoyed watching soccer and baseball and was a loyal fan of FC Barcelona and the New York Yankees. His greatest joy, however, was simply being surrounded by the people he loved.

Though our hearts are heavy with his absence, we are forever grateful for the example he set and the love he gave so freely. His legacy will continue to live on in each of us.

Dad, thank you for your unconditional love, your wisdom, and the example you gave us every day. We will honor your memory, cherish your legacy, and carry your love in our hearts forever. Until we meet again, may you rest in the peace of the Lord.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00pm on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.
