Patricia Joan Lynch, 72, of Washington, NJ, passed away on July 22, 2026.

Born in Newark to the late Kenneth Sr. and Margaret Lynch (nee Burke), she was a graduate of Warren Hills Regional High School, Class of 1972. She spent most of her life in Washington, NJ,  a place she considered her home.

Patricia dedicated her career to helping veterans, working as an Eligibility Clerk for the Veterans Administration in Lyons and East Orange for over thirty years. She was a committed advocate who fought to make sure every veteran received the medical treatment and continued care they deserved.

But above every title and every accomplishment, Patricia’s greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother. She poured her heart into raising her children, and that love only multiplied with each grandchild who came along. Being “Grandma” wasn’t just a role to her; it was who she was. Whether at Mountain Lake, Oxford Lake, or down at the Jersey Shore, her happiest moments were spent surrounded by family, watching her grandchildren grow, and later, delighting in her first great-grandchild.

Patricia was also a friend of Bill W. for over 35 years, quietly and steadfastly devoted to helping others find their way, just as she had.

Surviving are her children, Sean O’Neill and wife Amanda, Eileen O’Neill, Kevin O’Neill and wife Jessica, and Christopher O’Neill and wife Rebecca; her grandchildren Hailey (Matt), Madelyn, Sean, J.P. ,Ryan, Kaylee, Logan, and Charlotte; her great-granddaughter Sophia; her siblings Joseph Lynch and wife Lorraine, Kenneth Jr. and wife Kelly, and Gene Lynch and wife Judy; along with nieces, nephews, extended family, colleagues, and friends whose lives she touched.

Patricia’s love for her family was the truest measure of her life. Being a grandmother was, by her own heart, her greatest joy.
