Patricia Kolb Hoffman

February 7, 1961 — December 28, 2018

Age 57
Long Branch

Patricia Kolb Hoffman, 57, dedicated mother, loving sister, and faithful Catholic, passed away
on December 21st at her home in Long Branch, New Jersey.

Born February 7, 1961 to Paul and Carol Kolb in Buffalo, NY, Tricia was the youngest of five children. She attended Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York, then worked for Digital Equipment Corporation and AT&T as a computer programmer and project manager.

Tricia took early retirement to spend time raising her three wonderful sons. She was actively involved in her children’s school communities, including those at St. Augustine of Canterbury School in South Brunswick and Immaculata High School in Somerville. She volunteered for the
St. Vincent DePaul Society and always displayed her love for the Catholic faith as an active parishioner of churches in the towns where she lived.

Tricia loved to talk about her sons, pray for and with others, laugh with family, and care for her Welsh Springer Spaniel, Tess. She found peace in walking along the ocean by her house in Long Branch. She was a warm and compassionate person, devoted mother and friend, and always thinking of others first. In the words of the English poet Samuel Rogers, “To know her was to love her.”

She leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her three sons and daughter in law: Thomas and his wife Sarah of Addison, Texas, Gregory of Washington, DC, and Timothy of Bethesda, Maryland. Her memory will also be treasured by her four siblings, Mark Kolb, John Kolb, Carol Kolb Phillips, and Beth Kolb Foose, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is now at peace with the Lord, alongside her loving mother and father.

Visitation, Friday, January 4 from 5-8pm at Cusick Funeral Home in Somerville, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, Somerville, on Saturday, January 5 at 9:30am, followed by interment at St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Bridgewater.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Catholic Charities at catholiccharitiesusa.org
