Mustafa Metin Serbester

Mustafa Metin Serbester, 80, of Bridgewater, died peacefully on October 14, 2025.

Born and raised in Izmir, Turkey. Mr. Serbester immigrated to New Jersey where he settled to Scotch Plains. He went on to work for the Scotch Plains Board of Education as a custodial engineer at Scotch Plains High School. In 1986 he met the love of his life, Maria Garcia Sanchez, and loved her family like his own. The two were married ten years later and settled to Bridgewater.

Mustafa had a love for music and dancing, which stayed with him even through his final days. He was an avid fan of European soccer and enjoyed watching gameshows. He and his wife took many trips to Atlantic City over the years and enjoyed the quality time spent together. Above all, he was a devoted family man who cherished his wife and grandkids and took great pride in caring for them.

Surviving are are his beloved wife Maria Sebester, his step-children Susan Cowles and husband Tom, Teresa Araujo and husband Julio, David Wissert and wife Nicole, cherished grandchildren Julio, Miclino, Tiffany, Sofia, David, Rick, Alex and Kristen and great grandchildren- Lucas, Zachary, Samantha, Amelia, Kaya, Jack, Oliver and Genevieve.
