Michael F. Vernoia Sr., husband of 57 wonderful years to the late Norah T. Vernoia, died
June 28 at home. He was born in Brooklyn, NY where he was a member of the Flatbush Boys Club and a ball boy for his beloved Brooklyn Dodgers. Mr. Vernoia has been a resident of Hillsborough since 1962. He retired as owner and operator of the RAMP Cleaners. A graduate of the Eastern Military Academy High School in Long Island, NY, Mr. Vernoia enjoyed playing golf and bowling with dear friends that he has known for years. While living in Hillsborough, he was a former President for the Hillsborough Dukes.
Surviving are his children Karen Ann Denson (William) of Branchburg, Francis J. Vernoia (Alexis) of Middletown, Lorraine M. Syring (Kevin) of Park Ridge, Michael F. Vernoia Jr. (Ann) of Hillsborough and Claudia Miller (Mike) of Hillsborough. Also surviving PAPA are his 16 grandchildren Lorraine, William, Michael (Jennifer), John and Claudia Denson, Alexander, Francesca, Christina Vernoia, Mikey Miller, Kelly, Kaitlin and Daniel Syring, Sarah, Michael, Emma and Hannah Vernoia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30am Friday, July 1 at the Immaculate Conception Church, 35 Mountain Ave., Somerville. Interment to follow at St. Bernard Cemetery, Bridgewater. Visiting hours are from 3pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm on Thursday (Today), June 30 at the Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Ave., Somerville.
