Michael Dominick Kordecki, 73, left this world suddenly on January 27, 2024.
Born on November 23, 1950, he was raised in Jersey City and was a graduate of James J. Ferris High School. He met the love of his life, Mary Dworski, in 1966 when they were just 16 years old. After six years together, the two were married in 1972 and eventually settled in Bridgewater where they raised their daughter, Marisa. He was lucky enough to be married to his best friend Mary for 51 years. They enjoyed quality time spent together with their family, and especially taking road trips to visit relatives and friends around the country.
His love of the open road began as a truck driver with the Teamsters. Mike went on to work for the United States Postal Service in 1980 transporting mail. During his career, he made countless friends, who he maintained contact with even after his retirement in 2010.
Mike was affectionately known as “Mex”. He enjoyed spending time riding his Harley. Mike was a jack of all trades and was everyone’s go-to guy – reliable, kind, and funny. He was mechanically gifted, tinkering about in the garage and workshop and always helping friends fix just about anything. His absence will resonate far and wide. Mike was a talented musician and self-taught guitarist; he was able to play any song by ear. He had numerous hobbies which he shared with the people he loved most. His painting, wine making, and woodworking are all tokens of endearment to those he leaves behind. He was also a fantastic cook! He shared his dishes with everyone, and was especially known for his famous pancakes, a favorite of his beloved grandson, Nolan. He was extremely proud to be a “Grampy” to Nolan and was his biggest fan during baseball season.
He is preceded in death by his mother Helen and stepfather George Andrew.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Mary, his loving daughter Marisa (Michael) Cimini, his cherished grandson Nolan, his loved grand-dog Jett, his large extended family, and dear friends.
Mike was a good man with a great heart who will be remembered for his impact on the lives of everyone who was blessed to know him.
