Michael Patrick Kelly, 52, died Saturday August 27 at Somerset Medical Center. Born and raised in Somerville, Michael attended Somerville schools and graduated from Somerville High School in 1978 where he was a member of the wrestling team. Michael went on to become a master carpenter, working for the local carpenters Union #455 of Somerville for many years. Mike was known for his strenth and sense of humor. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. His family joked that he had 9 lives for surviving the many calamities that seemed to surround him. It is fitting that he left us on the eve of a hurricane. Michael was predeceased by his father John (Jack) in February of this year. He is survived by his children Kristen and Michael Jr. of Flemington, his mother Barbara (Bobbie), sisters Laurie and her husband Bill Petersen of Knowlton and Kristen and her husband James McCann of Hillsborough and a brother Matthew Kelly of Stratham, NH. A Memeorial Mass will be held 10am on Thursday, September 1 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 105 Summer Rd., Three Bridges, NJ.
