Mr. Michael “The Watchdog” Ceponis died peacefully in his home on September 4th in Montgomery, NJ at the age of 62.

Michael is survived by: His father, Michael; Wife, Kris; Son, Brian; Daughters, Samantha and Alexis; Siblings, David, Stephanie, Christopher, Jennifer, and their families. He is preceded in death by: His mother, Geraldine; First wife, Patricia; Sister, Mary.

Michael was born in Staten Island, NY and raised in Somerville, NJ. He graduated from Somerville High School in 1971 and Rutgers University in 1975. He served as a council member of Somerville (1972-1976) and Somerset County Freeholder (1976-1982). He was a member of the Democratic Party and The Knights of Columbus.

Visitation hours will be at Cusick Funeral Home in Somerville on Tuesday, September 8, 2-4PM and 7-9PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 9 at 9:30AM at Immaculate Conception Church in Somerville. Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
