Michael Joseph Borick, 80, died suddenly on December 15, 2025.
He was the nicest man. He loved his family, his mom, dad and especially his dog who was faithfully by his side as he passed. It is with nothing but a sad heart that I bring this news as anyone that knew him had nothing but the best words to say of him. He was born December 18, 1944 at Saint Peter’s Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He lived in Bridgewater, New Jersey for his early years and was a graduate of Bridgewater High School. Before settling to Somerville where he passed away quietly in his home.
Mike was in the army August, 1965 to August 1968. He went to Raritan Valley Community College from 1968-1970. He went on to college at the New Jersey Institute of Technology from 1970-1973. He received his degree in Engineering and has worked in that field as a design engineer. He enjoyed working and retired from his career six months earlier this year. He had worked at Aeroflex Control Components as a Senior Design Engineer since January, 2011 until this year. He was also a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, in Somerville.
His hobbies included conditioning. He was very physically fit and worked out frequently. He also loved fishing. Just last week he was happy to have caught a large mouth bass. He liked going to the mall and seeing movies. His greatest hobby was his companionships with all his dogs over the years. You could count on always seeing him walk is dog on a daily basis. He took great care of his dogs. He also worked out in his own gym equipment daily and was a very health conscious person.
His sister Maryann had this to say about him. “Mike and I went everywhere when we were little. My hand was always on his shoulder looking after him. Mom always told me to take care of my brother. We both took care of each other. When I was having a hard time around Christmas, Mike would always help out to make sure the kids had a nice Christmas. We were always there for each other as kids and when we got older. Mike was more than a brother, and much more than a best friend.”
Surviving is,his dog Nala, his siblings Doris Mykytok and her husband Michael, John Borick, his brother, and his wife Rose with their daughter Christine, husband Dan, their children Madison and Morgan. A sister Maryann Silva and her children Ben, Joe, Michael, Gina, Mary Lou, Joanne.
