Mary Trezza, 89, passed away peacefully October 13, 2012 in the home of her daughter Josephine Tocci, Bridgewater, after diminishing health over the last few years due to the ravages of Alzheimer’s disease.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 am on Friday, October 19 at St. Joseph Church, 34 Yorktown Road, Hillsborough. Visitation will be Thursday, October 18 from 3pm to 7pm at the Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville. The family has asked in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834-1365.

Mary was predeceased by her husband Sabastian Trezza and son Thomas P. Trezza. Together she and her husband were second generation farmers raising vegetables on their home place in Somerset, trucking the fruits of their labor to markets in Newark. Mary also worked 25 years at the Elizabeth Avenue Elementary School, Somerset, as Cafeteria Manager. Son Tom also operated T.P Trezza Contracting and Septic Service for many years from the home place until his passing last year.

She is survived by daughter Josephine, daughter-in-law Patricia Trezza of Brielle, grandson Patrick Trezza of North Brunswick, granddaughter Nicole Byra and husband Ken of Westfield, and granddaughter Janine Jaloway, husband Alex and great-granddaughter Josie of Flemington.
