Mary Elann Reh (McLaughlin), "Sue" 88, died peacefully on May 30, 2026, after a three year battle with dementia
Born on June 10, 1937 in Pittston, PA, she graduated from Pittston Area High School and went on to graduate from Pittston Nursing School.She met Vince at a party in Plainfield, NJ, despite the fact that they were raised 15 minutes apart in Pennsylvania. They married on December 26, 1960,settled in Somerville, NJ and had five children.Sue practiced nursing, first, at Bronx Veteran’s Hospital in Bronx, NY then moved on to Somerset Medical Center but spent most of her career with Dr. Marcus Sanford of Somerville and then Dr. Robert McCarthy of Raritan.
She made awesome chocolate chip cookies.Sue honored her Irish heritage as a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Somerset County, St. Patrick’s Division. She and Vince enjoyed several trips to Ireland.
Sue was predeceased by her six brothers, Billy, Clark, Tom, Gene, Jimmy and Jerry and a daughter, Katy Reh Cormier.
She is survived by her husband, Vince, her children, Maryann, Vince, Colleen and Matt. She is also survived by her grandchildren Eileen and Cecilia Cormier, Donohue and TJ Sweeney, her son-in-law, Kevin Cormier and daughter-in-law, Georgette Reh.
Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 11:00AM to 3:00PM at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville.
Funeral services will begin at 3:00PM
