Age 81 Bridgewater

Mary Ann (nee Hynson) Jorda of Bridgewater died peacefully July 25, 2011, at Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington.

She was born April 16, 1930 in Hillside. Daughter of the late William Henry and Anna (nee Mayurnick) Hynson and loving wife of the late Robert C. Jorda. She is survived by her son Raymond Jorda of Bridgewater, daughter Susan and son-in-law Steve Brown of Garnet Valley, PA, daughter Christine and son-in-law Matthew Lintott of Hopewell and three loving grandchildren, Kyle and Hillary Brown, both of Garnet Valley, PA and Victoria Lintott of Hopewell. She is also survived by her brother William Hynson of Hutson, FL and brother John Hynson and his wife Beatrice of Sherrills Ford, NC. Mary graduated from West Side High School in Newark and attended Rutgers College. She worked for many years as a teacher for St. Bernard’s Nursery School followed by working for the Superintendent’s office at Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District. Mary adored her three grandchildren, especially spending time with them in the Poconos. She also enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, knitting and was very fond of the times she spent with her friends at the Bridgewater Women’s Club. Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, July 27 from 3 – 5pm and from 7 – 9pm and on Thursday morning, July 28 at 9:15am at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 27 at 10am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1890 Washington Valley Road, Martinsville. Interment will be at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Bridgewater.
