Mary Bowen

Mary Bowen, 73, died peacefully on December 13, 2024.

Born and raised in Summit, New Jersey, to the late John and Rita Bowen, she was a graduate of Summit High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Wayne Tucker, and the two settled in Piscataway where they raised their family. Mary began working at Overlook Hospital in Summit in the early 1970’s where she began in administration. She then had a clerical and technical role as she supported nurses in their daily routines in the pediatric unit for over forty years.

She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and all the beautiful things like fairies and butterflies. Mary was an incredible grandmother who valued the quality time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. As Alzheimer’s took her away from her former self, she still felt incredible love and connection with her family who devoted themselves to her daily care. She battled for twelve years before she went in peace surrounded by the love of her family.

Surviving are her loving children, Carly Tucker and Charles Tucker, her adored grandchildren Calysta, Charles, Jr., and Cameron, her cherished great-grandchildren A’lylianna and Carter, her dear brothers John Bowen and wife Karen and Bob Bowen and wife Cindy, as well as her nieces, nephews, and extended family.
