Mary Ann Lella

Mary Ann Lella, 67, died peacefully on June 5, 2023.

Born in Manhattan, New York to the late Charles and Ann Bolger (nee Dunphy), they settled to Middletown where Mary Ann graduated from Middletown High School North.

While commuting to work as an executive assistant in New York City, she met Anthony Lella, and the two were married in 1980. The Lella’s settled to Marlboro where they raised their family. Mary Ann was a devoted wife and mother who had a passion for baking, which led her to become an executive baker with Delicious Orchards in Colts Neck. She was an avid New York Yankees fan and adored Snoopy and Snoopy collectables and was a fan of the Beatles and Joe Crocker. Mary Ann enjoyed gardening and taking care of her plants, trips to Wildwood, going out to eat, and most of all, spending quality time with her family. She was known as a great cook and her famous dishes of beef and rice, homemade chicken soup, meatloaf, and many others.

She was preceded in death by her dear parents and brother-in-law Michael Lella.

Surviving Mary Ann Lella are her beloved husband, Tony Lella; her loving children, Steve Lella and wife Ali, and Lauren Lella; her dear stepsons, Anthony Lella and Christopher Lella and wife Shari; her dear step-grandchildren, Gianna Lella and fiancé Ethan, and Matthew Lella; her dear siblings, Barbara Bolger, Charles Bolger, John Bolger, and Maureen Truax; her cousin Ann DeVito and husband Ernie; her nephews Gary Truax and wife Emily and Michael Truax and wife Lisa.She is also survived by extended family and dear friends who meant so much to her.

Visitation will be held from 9:00AM to 12:00PM on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville.

Funeral services will begin with a prayer at 12:00PM at the funeral home.
