Somerville
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Marjorie Ross Reinhardt, 87, of Somerville and Ocean City, NJ after a thirty year battle with breast cancer.
Marjorie peacefully passed into the closer presence of our Lord at home on 02/02/2021. Born in the Frankford section of Philadelphia on August 19, 1933 to the late Howard Ross and Helen (Gebauer) Ross, Marjorie graduated from Frankford High School and then entered Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA where she met Ronald J Reinhardt soon to marry in December 1954 after their college graduation.
The couple then relocated temporarily to Ocean Beach, CA while Ronald satisfied his Naval obligations after which they settled in Somerville, NJ where Marjorie chose to become a homemaker and raise a family.
Early on in the 70’s, Marjorie was an avid bowler participating in many leagues at Bowlerama in Somerville. Her passions also included endless knitting, crocheting, and needlepoint. Marjorie and her brother, Robert Horace Ross, published two needlepoint template books entitled “Treasures of Tutankhamun in Needlepoint” and “Ancient Persian Designs in Needlepoint”.
As a dedicated member of the United Methodist Church, Marjorie held the position of President of the United Methodist Women, organizing and staffing many church dinners (fish & chips) as well as charity fund raisers and in-house bazaars.
Marjorie’s connection with Ocean City, NJ was lifelong; summering with her parents until their deaths. She and Ronald then had the opportunity to build a vacation home where she enjoyed her family, beach, and boardwalk each summer.
Marjorie is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ronald Reinhardt; her son Mark Reinhardt and his wife Lisa of Londonderry, NH; her daughter Karlyn (Reinhardt) Welsh and husband Peter of Whitehouse Station, NJ; and her two grandsons, Ross and Christopher Welsh of Baltimore, MD.
