Marilyn "Lynn" Tonnesen, daughter of the late Russell and Dorothy Kriney, died March 2 at home. She was born in Jersey City and resided in Watchung and Mountainside before moving to Somerset. Mrs. Tonnesen was a Registered Nurse and had worked at Middlesex General Hospital, now Robert Wood Johnson Univeristy Hospital, New Brunswick. She was the first female councilwoman of Watchung and her memberships and elected positions included Past President of the Mountainside Woman's Club, Past President of Garwood Woman's Club, member of the Danish Sisterhood, Eastern Star (Mt. Zion Chapter #116) and the Echo Lake Country Club. Surviving are her husband Hans Arthur Tonnesen, her daughters Leslie Sadler (husband John) and Susan Thompson (husband Don). Two grandchildren Jessie Sadler and Katie Thompson and a great grandchild Reese Sadler. Funeral Service will be held 2pm on Tuesday, April 5 at the Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Ave., Somerville. The family will receive friends at 1pm on Tuesday prior to service at the funeral home.
