Marie A. Golembiewski, 87, died on August 5, 2022. Born and raised in Jersey City, to the late Nicholas and Clara Ascolese, she faced a hardship at the loss of her mother at a young age. Her oldest sister, Loretta took her in with open arms and raised her alongside her own children. She was a graduate of Dickenson High School of Jersey City and went on to marry and have two children. Her second marriage was the love of her life, Sylvester “Stan” Golembiewski. The two married and settled in Bridgewater where they grew and raised their family. Marie worked for Egan Machinery for many years as a secretary. Her organizational skills and kind personality led to a position at Kemper Pontiac in Somerville as a bookkeeper and office manager until her retirement in 1996. Marie and her husband enjoyed spending winters at their home in Florida and traveling with family and friends. She had a love of the racetrack and enjoyed casinos. Marie was an amazing cook and most of all, enjoyed the quality time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was devoted to her family and friends, and it showed in all she did with and for them. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sylvester “Stan” Golembiewski, and her dear siblings, Vincent, Tillie, Loretta (who was like a mother to her), Lucy, Robert, and Eugene, as well as her dear sons Richard Golembiewski, Michael DeAnni, dear son in law Francis Broderick, and Becky Morrone who she considered a sister. Surviving is her loving daughter, Donna Broderick, her adored grandchildren, Lauren, Adrienne, Michael, Michelle, Nicole, Vincent, Anthony, Marc, Amber, Jade, Christopher, Gary, Michael, Adam, her eleven adored great-grandchildren (and one on the way), and her dear siblings Claire Paul and Gerry Morrone as well as her extended family and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2022, from 4:00 to 8:00PM at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Friday, August 12, 2022, at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 60 Maple Street, Bridgewater. Family and friends are welcome to gather beginning at 9:00AM. Committal service will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge. Memorial contributions may be made in Marie’s memory to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, in honor of the lifesaving efforts they have given her great grandchildren, www.CHOP.edu/Giving Donate Online
