Marian Crane

September 28, 1931 — July 12, 2023

Marian Crane, 91, died peacefully on July 12, 2023.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York to the late Joseph and Jessie Vasile (nee Richardson), she was a graduate of Grover Cleveland High School.

Marian raised her family in Brooklyn, and settled to New Jersey in 1973, moving with her husband, Howard Crane to Neshanic. She was ahead of her time, working as a Program Analyst for NECA in Whippany for many years. She witnessed the development of technology from its inception and participated in the analytics process that made key cards develop and function. After her retirement she worked for the Borough of Somerville in parking violations.

After the death of her husband, her loving children moved to Somerville in 1990 and Marian resided with her daughter until her passing. She enjoyed the quality time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Marian enjoyed word searches and researching genealogy, something passed on from generations of her family before. She had a collection of her family history dating from the 1600’s and pictures of her ancestors dating back to the 19th century. She was a kind soul who was known for her sweet easy-going demeanor.

She was preceded in death by her dear son Anthony Miccoli in 1988, her beloved husband Howard “Howie” Crane in 1984, her brother Joseph Vasile, and a daughter in law Lisa Miccoli.

Surviving are her loving children, Vincent Miccoli and Gina Gumulak and husband Robert, step-children, Howard Crane and wife Susan and Jeffrey Crane and wife Debbie, her cherished five grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and her dear extended family.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life is scheduled for Thursday, September 28, 2023. Family and friends may gather at Somerset Hills Memorial Park for a 10:00 AM Graveside Service, 95 Mt. Airy Road, Basking Ridge.
