Maria Carmen Chavarria passed away peacefully on March 26, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born in Honduras to Amilcar and Teresa Chavarria.
To many, she was known as Carmen. Growing up in Honduras, Carmen was one of 10 siblings. She loved music and was always ready to dance to her favorite merengue songs. She immigrated to America in 1982 in search for a better future for her family. She was an exceptional hard worker who cared deeply for her loved ones. Despite how large her family was, she always made time for everyone and was willing to lend a hand.
Carmen will be remembered by her family and friends for her selfless nature, vibrant personality, and drive. She was a fearless person who was always willing to take on any challenge. She was larger than life and known for her humor. She will be greatly missed by all of those who loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Egar German Jimenez, her children, Carmen Pahola Chavarria, Christian Chavarria, and Kevin Jimenez, her grandson, Brody, as well as her loving and large extended family of Chavarrias, Ortegas, and Castros including her sisters and brother, her cousins, and her nieces and nephews. She is pre deceased by her father, Jose Amilcar, her mother, Teresa, and her two brothers, Francisco and Mario.
Visiting hours Monday, March 29, from 5pm-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial 9:30am on Tuesday, March 30, at Immaculate Conception Church, Somerville.
