Margaret "Megs" G. Kuzio

June 5, 1922 — November 4, 2024

Margaret G. Kuzio, nee Golski, entered into eternal life after 102 blessed years on earth, surrounded by her loving family.

Born and raised in Manville to the late Elizabeth and Joseph Golski, (nee Detko), she met the love of her life, John Kuzio. The Kuzio’s settled in Bridgewater where they raised their family of 7 children. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother whose legacy of dedication will live on for generations to come. Unprecedented for the time, Margaret went on to graduate from St. Peter’s School of Nursing in 1943 and went on to receive higher education at St. Louis University in Missouri where she graduated in 1945. She began a career in hospital-based nursing instruction at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson, before spending time at St. Francis Hospital in Delaware, and then at the former Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. She took a reprieve from her career to raise her family, after which she spent seventeen years teaching LPNs at Somerset County Technical Institute, retiring in 1984.

Megs always found time to make sure she was active in her church, community, and her children’s lives. She was a volunteer Girl Scout mom who helped while her kids were active, as well as devoting herself to her parish community. Margaret was a longtime parishioner and daily communicant of The Church of The Immaculate Conception in Somerville, serving in their Hospital, Lazarus, and Habitat for Humanity Ministries, and attending parish bible studies. Her ability to help people with love and prayer through their tribulations was a testament to her faith and dedication. Margaret was a longtime member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Raritan Valley Cultural and Slavic Heritage Society, and the Bridgewater Senior Club. She lived her faith daily for over a hundred years and established that legacy in her own children to carry on. Margaret enjoyed the quality time spent with family and friends during the holidays, and making special trips to spend time together. She had a love for Owls and collected them as mementos.

She was welcomed into eternal life by her beloved husband, John, her eldest daughter, Mariann Callahan, her dear siblings: John Golski (Helen), Katherine Kuzio (Mike), Josephine Beko (Kelly), and the countless relatives and friends who went before her.

Surviving are her loving children, Margaret “Terri” Boron, Barbara Kuzio, John Kuzio (Monika), Joseph Kuzio (Debbie), Elizabeth “Betsy” Kuzio, Virginia “Ginny” Finan (Bob), son-in-law, Mark Callahan, her cherished grandchildren: Melissa, Rebecca, Jennifer, Matthew, Michael, her seven adored great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
