Margaret M. Mcardle

Margaret Marie McArdle, 81, died peacefully on September 21, 2023.

Margaret was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ to the late Martin and Margaret Johanesen (nee Skelley). It was there that she met the father of her children, the late Frank McArdle, and the two resided until moving to North Plainfield in 1966 to raise their family.

Margaret worked as a secretary for various car dealerships throughout the years, also working for Howard Johnson and Mercury Information Services, Inc. Her most recent secretarial position was at Queen City Pontiac in Green Brook, NJ, where she worked for over ten years.

Her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother, and she loved taking care of her family, friends and neighbors. She also enjoyed spending time cleaning, playing card and computer games, crocheting, and watching mystery movies and television shows.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Margaret Johanesen; the father of her children, Frank McArdle; and her siblings, Terrance, Tommy, Michael, and Barbara.

Surviving are her children, Jennifer Izzo and husband Tony, and John McArdle; her grandchildren Ashley, Lindsay, Nicole, Amanda, and Kaitlyn Izzo, and Sean, Sarah, and Will McArdle; her great-grandchildren Alivia, Makayla, and Mason; her siblings MaryAnn and Marty Johanesen; as well as friends and extended family.
