Luigia Disario

Born in Prata di Principato Ultra, Province of Avellino, Campania, Italy to the late Antonio and Maria DeRosa (nee Barbati), she met and married the love of her life, Joseph DiSario in 1958. The DiSario’s settled to New York City where they raised their daughter, and Luigia worked as a seamstress. Her talent for hand sewing landed her with Lord West in Manhattan and Queens where she worked as a finisher, adding impeccable quality to every garment.

In their retirement, the DiSario’s moved to Northport, Long Island to be with their daughter. Luigia spent twenty two years watching her grandchildren grow up and spending quality time together as a family, before moving to Center Bridge in Bridgewater. Even in her retirement, she loved to sew and knit. Luigia was very creative and enjoyed doing crafts. Her Italian heritage was present in all she did and her legacy lives on in her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband in 2019, Joseph DiSario, and her dear brother Carmine DeRosa.

Surviving are her devoted daughter Erminia and husband Jack Dagnese, her cherished grandchildren, Jack Dagnese, Jr. and wife Dana, Karissa Durham and husband Michael, and Adriana Benevenuto and husband Matthew, her adored great-grandchildren, Juliana, Jack, Joseph, Julian and Gianna, as well as her extended family and community friends.

Family and friends are welcome to gather beginning at 10:00AM at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville.

Committal services will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery Mausoleum.
