Louise Grazulewicz

Louise Grazulewicz, 97, died peacefully on December 15, 2023 surrounded by her family.

Born in Elizabeth to the late John and Mary Prodeline, Louise attended Sacred Heart High School, before meeting her husband, the late Alexander Grazulewicz. The two were married in 1950 and settled in Elizabeth where they raised their family. She was a longtime resident of Elizabeth and worked at the former Newman’s Five and Dime.

Louise had a love of music, and enjoyed sharing her talent at nursing homes, where she would sing and entertain the residents, bringing a smile to everyone’s face. She was a longtime parishioner of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Elizabeth, where she was a member of the Rosary Society. She lived on Mountain Avenue in Somerville for over twenty-five years and was active within her community. One of her greatest joys in life came when she became a grandmother and great grandmother, spending quality time creating memories with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Grazulewicz in 1990, and her dear sister Eleanor O’Brien.

Surviving are her children: Sandra Grazulewicz; Mark Grazulewicz and wife Beverly; Michael Grazulewicz; Mary Glasofer and husband David. She has four grandchildren, Taylor, Leah, Nathan, and Ricki and five great grandchildren, Blake, Audrey, Claire, Cayden, and April. She is also survived by her brother John Prodeline and his wife Phyllis, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Inurnment will take place at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia at a later date.
