Linda Yates-Mamelok

Linda Yates-Mamelok, 78, died on March 2, 2025.

Born in Somerville, NJ, to the late Franklin and Marjorie Yates (née Pink), Linda grew up in Somerville and Bridgewater where she graduated from Bridgewater High School in 1964. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Barnard College, a reflection of her deep-thinking nature and love of the world’s great ideas.

Linda dedicated her career to caring for others as a home health aide, first in California and later in Brick, NJ. Her time living in Manasquan was among the most cherished of her life—whether she was sitting on the beach, listening to classical music, or writing poetry, one of her greatest passions. A true explorer at heart, she traveled extensively throughout Europe, embracing different cultures and perspectives, though she remained a Jersey Shore girl through and through.

She believed deeply in a holistic approach to life, often turning to meditation to clear her mind and find peace. Linda’s generosity knew no bounds; she supported numerous charities, making a lasting impact on causes close to her heart. She truly made the world a better place.

Linda was predeceased by her parents, Franklin and Marjorie, as well as her brothers, Tony and Ricky.

She is survived by her brother, John Yates; her niece, Wendy; her nephew, Richard; and her beloved great-nieces and nephews, Teaghan (Pam), Alexandra, and Delaney.

Linda’s life was one of kindness, curiosity, and compassion. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
