Linda Young Woolley, 75, died on July 20th, 2022. Born in East Orange to the late Milton and Gertrude Young, she grew up on Mt. Vernon Road in Bridgewater. Linda was a graduate of Bridgewater-Raritan High School, Class of 1965, where she took college prep courses and was involved in both choral groups and instrumental programs and played trumpet in both the band and marching band. She went on to attend Trenton State College (now The College of New Jersey), majoring in elementary education and graduating in 1969. She was very active in Ionian Sigma Sorority and enjoyed participating in many college activities. Immediately following graduation from college, Linda was hired by the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District. She taught 2nd Grade for 40 years, and even after her retirement, kept in touch with many of her former students until her death. Linda enjoyed meeting with friends and colleagues for lunch and was a memorable intricate part of their lives. She married the late William Preston Woolley who preceded her in death by only three weeks. Together they went sailing and had great times spent flying beside him and traveling. She enjoyed gardening and her care for her garden showed in her beautiful flower beds. Linda had a talent for crafting, and she often created homemade ornaments to give her students for the holidays. Linda leaves a legacy of life, love, and humor that will shine on in the hearts of her friends whose lives will forever be brightened by this lovely lady. Many hearts will ache, but many souls will smile. She is survived by her dear sister, Laraine Muller, as well as her community of friends and colleagues. Memorial visitation will be held on August 6, 2022, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Cusick Funeral Home 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville with a prayer service to be held at 4:00PM
